Passionate About Your Career

CV Masterclass

A one hour, one-to-one CV Writing Coaching Session. The idea behind this service is to provide in-depth and specific guidance on how to write your own CV. It aims to cut through the masses of information that is available on CV Writing and tell you exactly what you need to do and most importantly, how to do it.

We will go through your CV stage by stage and guide you on how to create each section into a powerful and high impact document. At the end of the session, you should be confident that you know exactly what you need to do to write a great CV.

Obviously, your written communication skills will have a significant bearing on how good your CV will be, but if you feel you can write well, then this service is a really cost effective way of getting a great CV.

If at the end of the session you feel that the task is still too daunting then you can always upgrade to one of our Full CV Writing Packages and pay the difference.

Here is what the session will include:

Personal Profile:

A Personal Profile or Personal Statement is critical to a successful CV. It helps the reader to understand who you are; what your core skills are; what your current situation is; and what kind of role you are looking for. The Personal Profile must be carefully crafted in order to project the correct image of you and your career.

Achievements:

Achievements are key to winning interviews; they provide evidence that you are good at your job and back up otherwise unsubstantiated statements. Our Career Consultants will work with you to draw out the most appropriate examples and put them into a format that is going to impress the reader of your CV.

Testimonials:

Testimonials on a CV? Absolutely! If you have had good feedback from a client or ex-boss then it may be appropriate to include this in your CV. Although they are not appropriate for every CV, testimonials communicate an impartial view of your abilities and can be a very powerful selling tool. (optional)

Career History:

The meat of the CV. The career history must be written in a way that sells you to a potential employer and must also provide evidence of your abilities by incorporating achievements. It is important to describe your duties and responsibilities in a 'features and benefits' style so that the reader understands how your skills can benefit their organisation.

Of course, there is other information that should be included in your CV. Our Career Consultants will talk you through what is relevant and what is not. Rest assured that your new professionally written CV will show you in a new light and provide you with the best possible chance of winning interviews. After that, it's over to you!
